At your first comprehensive exam with us, we will review your overall medical history, take and examine your radiographs (x-rays), and perform an oral cancer screening and full mouth dental exam.
Your dentist will do a comprehensive analysis and let you know of any signs of dental health issues.
Cleaning
We will determine the type of cleaning you need at your exam. A cleaning will get rid of bacteria, plaque, and tartar build-up.
If you have periodontal disease, then you will need additional treatment. It is important to treat periodontal disease early because the symptoms will continue to worsen and the damage will become irreversible. Signs that you may be suffering from periodontal disease are bleeding while brushing, tenderness/swelling of gums, dark/reddish gums, and bad breath.
