Replacing Missing Teeth
CHEW LIKE A CHAMPION
Options for Replacing Missing Teeth
Missing teeth can cause decreased self-confidence and attractiveness. Over time, bone in the area will melt away and you may notice adjacent teeth shifting and tilting. Opposing teeth may also start drifting into the space, causing expensive problems. At Smile Corners we will discuss options for replacing your missing teeth.
Implants
Implants are the closest thing to your natural teeth. A dental implant consists of 3 parts: the implant body itself, an abutment, and a crown. At Smile Corners, we partner with the best labs in the industry to provide you with high quality and natural-looking implants and crowns. Implants can last a lifetime and give you a confident smile and ability to eat normally again!
Implants are a bit more expensive than less permanent options for missing teeth, such as dentures. However, because implants can last a lifetime with proper care, they are more cost-effective in the long run. Implants are an investment in your wellbeing and we are here to help you evaluate different financial options. Visit us at Smile Corners to see if you are a candidate for implants!
Bridges (Fixed Partial Dentures)
When implants aren’t an option, a bridge may be possible. A bridge is essentially a series of crowns “bridging” from one tooth, over the empty space, to another tooth. The bridge is permanently cemented and does not need to be removed.
The biggest difference between a bridge and an implant is ease of maintenance. Implants are maintained with brushing and flossing just like your natural teeth, while bridges will also require flossing underneath the bridge itself.
Partials (Removable Partial Dentures)
A partial is a cost effective option for replacing missing teeth. Unlike fixed options (implants and bridges), you must remove partials every night to allow your tissue to rest. We offer partials with a traditional metal framework as well as metal-free Valplast and acrylic partials.
Complete Dentures
Dentures are prosthetics used to replace a full arch of missing teeth. Unlike fixed options, dentures have a steep learning curve and will not feel or function like your natural teeth once did.
We recommend at least 2 implants to help hold lower dentures in place. Ask us about implant supported dentures and implant supported bridges!
